BookShout: eBook & Reading App App Reviews

I downloaded this to get a Patricia Cornwall book for $1.99. The app crashes before I can read one word! Very disappointed!

This has been a decent reader app for me for more than a year. I like the way it allows me to continually scroll down pages rather than turning each time. When reading on a small screen, that method is easier for me. I was pretty frustrated after the last "update" that my content was no longer available. I was able to get it back by deleting and reinstalling the app, but lost all of my bookmarks and highlights, apparently permanently. That was a huge disappointment and may be enough to discourage me from buying or reading any books I really care about on this app in the future.

Okay for presenting reading material however no bookmark functionality. Thought that would be pretty basic for an e-reader.

This app is awful. If I turn my phone sideways, it changes to another page. If I put the phone down, it jumps to another section. The story that youre reading shows no spaces, paragraphs, etc. to show you that another character is now speaking. So the story was showing you the perspective of 3 different characters and it would literally be the next sentence. Not a different line, paragraph or chapter. It takes forever to turn a page(& you have to do that a lot since it jumps back so often. I have no idea why anyone would use this app over the kindle app.

Loved this Book Shout app until the IOS 10 download. Suddenly the print is too small to read without a magnifying glass. The menu to change the size of the print no longer operates. The print stays the same size which would take bionic eyes to read.

Books wont load and cant download for offline viewing.

Ive always preferred bound books over e-readers, but BookShout is the definite superior version of the latter.

Why do I need an account to read a book? Another credential I have to remember.

Every time I go to read my book the app starts it on the first page. Using the bookmark is a solution but figuring out how was not intuitive. I had to Google it. That being said I can read books on the app so I guess it does the minimum.

Blows Kindles reading experience away. So much better and elegant reader. Not clunky and goofy like others out there. Love the speed reader

Greatest reading platform ever! You guys deserve a round of applause!

Just started using the app and couldnt be more annoyed by the highlighting feature. Its very sensitive and not removable at this time! Thats an answer that is not easily found on their support page, btw. If you have a known issue, why not make that easy to find? Or better yet, release the update that fixes the problem?

Every time I go back to Bookshout, I am never relocated to where I left off. Takes me ten minutes to find the page. Am I doing something wrong? If so, why cant instructions or tabs be clearer, if not, please fix!

The app does just what its supposed to and I like that I can bargain hunt too.

I really am enjoying BookShout because of its uniqueness. The daily goal is motivating, as are the BookShout Bucks that it awards for certain milestones. I really enjoy the free books that I can try out without spending money. Its a wonderful new experience.

Is it that hard to just say that the "ebook" you are selling is on this platform instead of available somewhere comfortable to read, such as through Amazon so I could read it on my Kindle.

Love the speed reader

Very enjoyable app. Great selection of varied and interesting book offers at very reasonable prices. Word size, font, and sentence spacing are adjustable, making for less stress on the eye. Speed reading option as well. I went from being a sporadic reader to one who reads every day; have read over 60 books in a year.

The app seems to hang while loading my book, so is unusable to me

I have 2 books on this app, but I cant open the books to read them, it just loads forever. Disappointed.
